Tonight, Doug heads off to Korea. This is the start of a busy couple of months (for Doug). He'll be gone approx 3 weeks, back for about 3 days, then off to Virginia for a conference and then followed by 20 days of house hunting in the Chesapeake area. He should be back for good in mid-April. That is, until his next trip in May. I'm not so worried about me. The kids are bigger, more self sufficient, more entertaining. Adam won't remember. He'll just think daddy's at work (well, technically, he is). Besides, he likes me better. Just kidding, Doug. I am, however, worried about Mary. She's been having a lot of bad dreams lately. It seems like she's been plagued with them for quite some time now. Her newest fear is that there's a scary man in her room...in her bed. Good grief, that scares me too. It helps when daddy's here. Hopefully, it won't get worse while he's gone. Don't get me wrong, not all nights are bad... just most. Today, I picked up 3 cards (1 for each week) and Doug wrote messages for Mary. I plan on popping one in the mailbox each week, so Mary will have a surprise card from daddy when we go check mail. It helps that we can use the military postal system and there's free postage. Otherwise, I would have had to slyly sneak a card into the mail pile when she wasn't looking. This will be more authentic. We had a rough night with nightmares last night, and knowing that today was daddy's last day for a while, Doug made sure he spent extra quality time with Mary. I know she appreciated it. I sure did.Nothing better than being pulled around in a big box!

There was playing on the floor.

And playing board games.

Hope Mary doesn't have too many interrupted nights and that you all get some good sleep while he's gone.
