Today we travelled approx 1 hr and 40 min north to Najikin Castle Ruins to view the beautiful cherry blossoms. Two years ago, we went to Nago for the festival (you can look up that post from my archive), but the festival was last weekend while Doug was away and it was cold, overcast and down right dreary. Not prime weather for outdoor activities. This year, we felt it would be more practical (running room for the kids) to go to the castle ruins. Besides, I've always heard that they're especially beautiful there. They were spectacular. It was a gorgeous day today; sunny, blue skies, 70 degrees and LOTS of traffic. Apparently, everyone else had the same thought. The kids did great and we had so much fun looking at the beautiful trees and running and playing. I am so glad we were able to do this before moving off the island. Here is a highlight of our day. I have way too many to post them all. By the way, Mary's getting to be a pretty good photographer. She took almost all the shots of me (Doug was busy chasing Adam). Hey when did I get all those wrinkles?

And you can't go on an adventure in Japan without at least 1 moment when you stop, scratch your head and say, "Huh?" Hmm, made me want to check my bra and make sure it was sturdy enough.
