Well, we might not be in Kansas any more, but we found a huge sunflower field to remind us of the beautiful sunflower State where Mary was born. Nicole and I loaded up the kids and went on a mini adventure this morning. Don't ask me why I look like such a dork in this pic. Maybe it's because Adam was super squirmy and I was fighting to hold on to him. Maybe it's because I wanted a pic of the 3 of us before we got any muddier. Maybe it's because I realized my feet were so caked in mud that I was stuck to the platform. Who knows, but this is the cleanest we were until we got home and dunked in the tub. Yesterday, we had lots and lots of rain. Today, we had
lots and
lots of mud. Hmm, probably not the best idea to come wander around, but I wanted to catch them before they wilted. We weren't the only ones with this idea. By the time we left, there was quite a crowd gathering. Too bad it was a weekday. I hear they had music and food set up on the weekend and you could buy a bunch of flowers for just 300 yen. I would have loved to have brought some flowers home with us.

The mud was super slippery, but you know my boy, the dirtier, the better.

Wish I could grow some sunflowers. Not that many, just a few. Maybe this year.
