The goody bag contained bubbles, a coloring book and sugar, sugar, sugar. I promised Mary if she took a really good nap for me, then she could have 1 piece of candy when she woke up. She was awesome. I was afraid with all the excitement (plus the cupcake), she would be too wired to sleep. Both kids were out for 2 1/2 hrs! Ah, mommy time. She earned a well deserved lollipop. She wasn't impressed with the yellow one, so she chose to pass it on to Adam (cause you know he doesn't care that she had sucked on it for a few minutes) and trade out for a strawberry one. This was Adam's first lollipop and by the look on his face I'd say it was a huge hit.
I will mention that he needs to work on his lollipop "etiquette". The living room was, is and will probably remain sticky for quite a while. I tried to chase after him with a wet wipe and this is why... He liked to hold it "pop in fist style" quickly followed by the "I have to touch everything in sight technique."
He liked to run it along the top of the table.
Of course, it's much tastier if you rub it in the carpet to collect cat hair, dust, dirt, and errant cheerio crumbs before popping it back in your mouth.
He liked to touch all the furniture with it as if it was a magic wand granting delicious stickiness to us all.
And you can't talk about Adam without the word drool coming into play.
Hmm, maybe giving a lollipop to a 13 month old wasn't the brightest idea, but it made for some great pictures and one super happy kid. Good thing daddy's not here. And to complete our day of sugar, never underestimate the power of the donut. Don't worry, it's from Mary's play kitchen. We didn't need any more sugar today.
Hope your day was as sugary sweet as ours!
