1 year ago you gave me 3 days of irregular contractions which made me uncomfortable. You came 12 days early which made us all surprised. When you decided it was time, you gave me an incredibly short labor of 43 minutes which made me happy, scared, elated, worried and...
loud. When you looked at me for the first time, you made me melt. This has been a wonderful first year and it has gone by too quickly. I love watching your face light up when I walk into the room. I love seeing you hold out your arms and walk to your daddy. I love hearing the sound of your carefree laugh when you're playing with your sister. You are the squirmiest, wiggliest, ball of motion. There is always something for you to look at, to touch, listen and yes, taste. I don't think I have ever seen anyone put as much stuff in their mouth as you. You would think that after the 200th pine cone you've tried, you would know that 1) they don't taste good and 2) they're
not edible. Maybe 201 is the magic number. Of course, that insatiable curiosity makes for one adventurous eater. You will try anything I put in front of you. For that, I say "Thank you". Happy birthday, my little man. May we continue to be blessed by your gorgeous smile, your innocent laugh, your excited babble and yes, your impatient yelling for food (he is my son, after all).

Yes, we had "recycled" birthday cake from the party. At least we re-lit the candle.

It was still yummy.

This is actually a "happy" face. Hard to tell. Nice tonsils. We love you, Adam. Can't wait to see what this next year brings in the way of adventures. Stay tuned.
