Once again, we partook of the generosity of Anheuser-Busch and their Hero Salute program (free admission for military members and up to 3 of their family members once a year). Hey! Doug + Kendra + Mary and Adam = 4. Perfect. We did this last year and loved it. What a great program to thank our military members. I'll admit, with the cost of a normal admission to the park, we probably wouldn't have even attempted to come until the kids were older. But, having to only pay for parking, lunch and snacks, it was quite reasonable. Also, coming on a weekday is smart, since we had little to no lines at all the rides. Thank goodness Doug was able to take a vacation day. We promised Mary if she had a good year at preschool, we'd bring her back. Today, was our day.

We totally lucked out with the weather. We were planning on going last Monday, but Mary woke up with a sore neck and we didn't think it was a wise idea to go. I'll be honest, I was disappointed, but it was also in the 90's with a triple digit heat index. Hot. So we waited a week and today, her neck was soft and pliable like rubber and the temperature was in the upper 80's. Awesome. The heat index was in the 90's, but in the shade with an occasional breeze, it was actually pleasant. The kids loved the rides, of course. Adam snuck onto the kid roller coaster and had a great time, but when we tried for a second time, he was caught for being a half inch too short and told he couldn't ride. He took it well. No tantrum or anything...just took it in stride. Next year. ;) His favorite ride was Elmo's spire (like a kid sized tower drop). He would say, "Up, Down, Up, Down" the whole time.
Adam has now decided to wink in most pictures. Silly boy. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from today. Enjoy.

Thank you again Busch Gardens for such a wonderful day. When I asked the kids what their favorite part of the day was, Adam replied, "Up, down, airplanes, dinosaur egg, dragons, balloons, fun!" and Mary said, "Spending the day with all my family." Awwwww. I love my family.

Thanks to A B for providing the day for you and all those in military. All you have to do is look at the faces on winky boy and water girl to see how much fun you all had.
