My quick "State" project

This week, I decided to tackle a quick craft project.  Nail art.  I saw some cute ones on Pinterest that had a heart in your city, but Chesapeake is too close to the border, my heart was too small and my fingers too big and clumsy.  Oh well.

First, I bought a block of wood at Michaels for $1.99.  I lightly painted it white.

I then found a photo of the state of Virginia on the
internet and then blew it up to the size I wanted.
Doug has the smallest little nails that I have no idea
what he uses them for, so I used them here.
Unfortunately, my fingers are too big, so I needed to
use needle nose pliers to hold the nail while I
hammered.

I nailed around the border and then pulled the paper off.  This is my result.  The kids loved the feel of them.
Because there's navy blue accents in the guest bathroom (and that's where this is going), I decided to use matching string.  It took a couple tries to get a pattern I was satisfied with.
The end result.  Our travel themed bathroom.
